Baadshaho, on expected grounds, comfortably takes #1 position over weekend. However it was Shubh Mangal Shavdan that impressed most while Paisa Vasool bombed. Overall Top 5 grossed a little more than ₹99cr, down 12% from last weekend.
Baadshaho grossed ₹45.4cr over its opening weekend playing on 2800 screens. Film had an average Day 1 of ₹12.43cr but Eid holiday on Saturday helped 3.66 multiplier. Film don’t have high investment from Distributors end but still performance so far doesn’t guarantees full recovery. Further film saw a steeper drop on Monday than required, grossing just above ₹6.5cr, for 4 days cume of ₹52cr. In coming days film will drop further which would mean another A-Lister film failing Break Even. Internationally film earned $1.5mn (₹9.6cr) with Gulf accounting for 60% of that.
At number two Paisa Vasool grossed a wimpy ₹22.6cr, with share of ₹13.5cr approx. Film had an okayish start on Friday but there wasn’t anything after that. Film just about doubled its Day 1 over weekend and that sums it all. Further it crashed on Monday with collection little above ₹1.75cr, weathering chances of even ₹30cr closing. Internationally film grossed disasterous $240k over 1st Weekend on 150 plus sites.
Shubh Mangal Shavdan impressed with an weekend of ₹18.2cr on 1400 screens. Numbers are on lower side but its trend over weekend that has cemented a ₹50cr plus closing in India. Film held well on Monday grossing ₹3.1cr trajecting for a week of ₹30cr. Film grossed another $600k in Overseas from 225 sites.
Among Holdovers, Vivegam grossed ₹7.3cr over its 2nd weekend, down 81% from last weekend. After 11 days of release film stand at ₹77.8cr in India with Tamil Nadu accounting for ₹58.1cr of that. It may cross Bairavaa’s ₹83.2cr in India but will fall short of ₹51cr Distributor Share. Film has earned ₹40cr Share so far and will probably close at ₹43cr Approx. Internationally, film grossed $550k over its 2nd weekend taking its cume at $4.8mn (30.8cr). Film is now Biggest Kollywood film YTD internationally. This also makes it 2nd Ajith starrer to gross ₹100cr globally (on 9th Day).
Arjun Reddy continued its dream run grossing ₹6cr over its 2nd weekend. Weekend to Weekend drop is 52% which is brilliant to the fact that Tollywood films are front loaded as anything. Film now stands at ₹26.55cr after 10 days and is heading for ₹40cr plus closing. Just to remind you, film has a cost less than ₹5cr, will end up earning ₹20cr from India theatrical only. Internationally it now stands at $1.65mn (₹10.5cr), with release pending across several markets.
Annabelle Creation grossed a little over ₹2.75cr over its 3rd weekend. Film now stands at ₹62.91cr ($9.83mn) in India and will be a photo finish to $10mn.
